Maciek Malish was a sound editor best known for his Emmy Award-winning work on The X-Files, as well as his nominations for the television series The Tick, Millennium and Lost.

With more than 100 credits to his name, Malish contributed to both film and television, including the series The Wonder Years, L.A. Law, Space: Above and Beyond, Picket Fences, L.A. Firefighters, Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, The Practice, Ally McBeal, Undressed, NCIS: Los Angeles, Undercovers, Bates Motel, The Leftovers, Mistresses, Constantine, The Affair, Ultimate Spider-Man, Person of Interest and Perception.

Malish also worked on the television movies Tears and Laughter: The Joan and Melissa Rivers Story, Against Her Will: The Carrie Buck Story, Take My Advice: The Ann and Abby Story, Frankenstein and The Poseidon Adventure. Additionally, he contributed to the films Undressed and Starship Troopers, among many others.

He was nominated for his first primetime Emmy Award for sound editing in 1995 for The X-Files, winning for the series in both ’96 and ’97. He was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in '97 for his work on The Tick, and was nominated twice in one year again in ’98, for his contribution to Millenium and The X-Files (the latter of which earned him another nom in ’99). He would later gather four more nominations for his work on the popular series Lost, in 2005, ’07, ’08 and ’10.

Malish died on September 12, 2015, in Moorpark, California, when an automobile hit him while he was riding a bicycle. He was 53.
