Lew Wood

Lew Wood was a former news anchor for NBC’s Today show. He began his career in the early days of television, and was Today's third news anchor, replacing Frank Blair in 1975. He left the show after one year and entered public relations, where he worked until his retirement in 2006.

 

Prior to Today, Wood was an anchor for WNBC-TV in New York and worked for CBS as a correspondent. In this role he covered included the civil rights movement in the 1960s, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and accompanied Martin Luther King Jr. on a march.
