Joy Saunders
Joy Silver, under the stage name Joy Saunders, was an actress on Broadway and in film, television and radio.
Silver made her debut on Broadway in the controversial A Pin to See the Peepshow, with Roger Moore. She was also one of the founding members of the Greenwich Mews Theatre, which operated from the mid-1950s through the early ’70s. The theater was experimental with its casting and staged productions like H.M.S. Pinafore.
Her other stage appearances included Sisters of Sisters and Waiting for Godot under the direction of her son, Jonathan Silver, at The Actor’s Institute, where she worked in residence for many years.
Later television appearances included seven episodes of ’80s comedies Kate & Allie and a role as a member of the cooking class on Working It Out. Both shows featured Jane Curtin, and the latter, Stephen Collins.

Silver died October 24, 2014, in Scarborough, New York. She was 89.
