John William Kavanaugh is an Emmy Award-winning composer and lyricist (and 5-time nominee) who has served as a songwriter for Disney Television since 2012. He was awarded the 2014 Daytime Emmy Award for Sofia The First Main Title theme song with co-lyricist Craig Gerber. In addition to Sofia The First: Once Upon A Princess and the Sofia The First series, John has worked as the songwriter and music director on Elena of Avalor, Disney's first Latina princess.
