John Henson

John Henson, the son of Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets, was a puppeteer and performer who worked on several Muppet productions, often as the character Sweetums, a large, hairy ogre whose menacing appearance belied a gentle disposition.

Henson appeared in the 1999 feature film Muppets from Space and his television credits included Muppets Tonight, It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie and The Muppets' Wizard of Oz.

He also performed at a Muppets attraction at Disney World in Florida.

Henson died of a heart attack on February 14, 2014, in Saugerties, New York. He was 48.
