Joel Schiller

Joel Schiller was a production designer and art director best known for his work on the films The Graduate, Rosemary’s Baby and The Muppet Movie. His work on The Graduate as assistant production designer, under the legendary Richard Sylbert, led to Schiller creating the conceptual fish-bowl environment for Dustin Hoffman's Benjamin Braddock.

Schiller also contributed to the films Lenny, The Man in the Glass Booth, The Buddy Holly Story, Murphy’s Romance, The Big Bus and The Illustrated Man.

Additionally, he worked on the television movies The Call of the Wild, The Force of Evil, The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald, Seduced and Between the Darkness and the Dawn.

Schiller died January 17, 2017, in Los Angeles. He was 86.
