Joan Lee was a former hat model and voice actress who was married to Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee for nearly 70 years.

Joan Lee, a big supporter of her husband’s career, lent her voice to two animated Marvel series, Fantastic Four, as Miss Forbes, and Spider-Man, as Madame Webb.

Additionally, she appeared in a cameo with her husband in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse. In the film, Stan and Joan can be seen clinging to one another as the ancient mutant Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) launches the world’s nuclear missiles.

In 2010, she appeared in a documentary about her husband, With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story.

She also wrote a 1987 novel, The Pleasure Palace, about a man striving to build the most luxurious ocean liner ever while romancing several women at once.

Lee died July 6, 2017, in Los Angeles. She was 95.
