Frank Tidy was a British born cinematographer best known for his work on Ridley Scott’s The Duellists. Tidy worked often with Scott, including on hundreds of commercials for Scott’s production company, RSA.

He also worked frequently with director Andrew Davis, including on the films Code of Silence, starring Chuck Norris; The Package, starring Gene Hackman; Under Siege, starring Steven Seagal; Steal Big Steal Little, starring Andy Garcia; and Chain Reaction, with Keanu Reeves.

Additionally, Tidy served as cinematographer on multiple television movies, including April Morning, starring Tommy Lee Jones; The Kissing Place, with Meredith Baxter; The Last Best Year, with Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters; Black Fox, starring Christopher Reeve; The Boys Next Door, with Nathan Lane and Tony Goldwyn; and Jewel, starring Farrah Fawcett.

Tidy died January 27, 2017, in Kent, England. He was 84.
