Edward Albee

Edward Albee was a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning American playwright best known for his works The Zoo Story, The Sandbox, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Goat and A Delicate Balance. 

Albee was widely regarded as the foremost American playwright of his generation, and many of his works were televised; as a result, he contributed to the series ITV Television Playhouse, Festival, Camera Three, ITV Play of the Week, New York Television Theatre and Great Performances.

Additionally, his plays Zoo Story and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf? were both turned into television specials.

Albee died September 16, 2016, in Montauk, New York. He was 88.
