Dirk Wallace Carft was a director and assistant director who worked on dozens of films and television programs, including Nip/Tuck and RIzzoli & Isles.

Born in Michigan, Craft graduated from Michigan State University and broke into the entertainment business after completing the Directors Guild of America's Trainee Program.

Born in Michigan, Craft graduated from Michigan State University and broke into the entertainment business after completing the Directors Guild of America's Trainee Program.

He began as a second assistant director and first assistant director in the early 1990s and logged numerous television credits, including Dinosaurs, ER, VIP, Alien Nation and many, many others. He also worked on such feature films as The Crucible, Running with Scissors and Van Wilder: Party Liaison.

In recent years he also broke into directing with episodes of such series as Burn Notice and Nip/Tuck.

Wallace died March 24, 2014, in Los Angeles. He was 48.
