Dan Striepeke was an American makeup artist.

Striepeke came to Los Angeles when he was 19. After serving four years in the Air Force, he worked as an assistant makeup artist on the 1956 films Around the World in 80 Days, Giant and The Ten Commandments.

Striepeke worked on many other classic films, including The Magnificent Seven, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Tora! Tora! Tora!, M*A*S*H, Patton, four of the original Planet of the Apes films, The Poseidon Adventure, and The Deer Hunter.

In addition to Forrest Gump (1994) and Saving Private Ryan (1998), both of which garnered him Oscar nominations, Striepeke made up Tom Hanks in Dragnet (1987), The 'Burbs (1989), Turner & Hooch (1989), The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), Joe Versus the Volcano (1990), Apollo 13 (1995), That Thing You Do! (1996), The Green Mile (1999), Cast Away (2000), Catch Me If You Can (2002), Road to Perdition (2002), The Terminal (2004), The Ladykillers (2004), and The Da Vinci Code (2006).

Striepeke did a small amount of work for television series, including Maverick, Mission: Impossible, and Riptide, as well as several made-for-TV films.

Striepeke received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards in 2004. He retired in 2006.

Striepeke died January 17, 2019, in West Los Angeles, California. He was 88.
