Christopher Wong Won

Christopher Wong Won, also known as Fresh Kid Ice, was a rapper and performer best known for co-founding the hip-hop group 2 Live Crew. Won was also the first notable rapper of Asian descent.

Known for their explicit lyrics, the group can lay claim to having the first album to feature a “parental advisory” label warning, on 1990’s Banned in the USA.

Despite that, their songs were featured in both films and on television, including the series Fastlane, American Dad and Breaking Bad, as well as the films Twins, Boyz n the Hood, Major Payne, Bring It On, Be Cool, Domino, Disturbia, The Sitter, Straight Outta Compton, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Central Intelligence and Bad Santa 2.

Won died July 13, 2017, in Miami, Florida. He was 53.
