Bob Walsh

Bob Walsh was a television network executive who worked for more than 25 years at NBC. Walsh served for a portion of his tenure as executive vice president, and was responsible for NBC Sports, NBC radio and the TV stations owned and operated by the network.

Notable events that Walsh oversaw during his time at the network included the 1988 Seoul Olympics, Wimbledon and the French Open.

Prior to his career as an executive, Walsh competed as a Golden Gloves boxer, and went on to become a captain in the Marines. He also studied to be a teacher and briefly worked in advertising before finding his way to NBC.

Walsh died April 23, 2017, in Wilmette, Illinois. He was 88.
