Ann Morgan Guilbert

Ann Morgan Guilbert was an actress best known for her work on the long-running TV comedy The Dick Van Dyke Show. On the series, which aired from 1961 to 1966, Guilbert played Millie Helper, next-door neighbor to Rob and Laura Petrie, played by Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore. Her spanned career more than 50 years, during which she also had roles in dozens of other TV programs.

A native of Minneapolis, Guilbert studied drama as a student at Stanford University. She got her first major break in show business as a member of a musical revue created by composer Billie Barnes. When the production ran Off Broadway it caught the attention of actor-writer-producer Carl Reiner, who remembered Guilbert when he was casting The Dick Van Dyke Show. She appeared in more than 60 episodes over the course of the show's run.

Her other notable TV credits included the role of Yetta, Fran Drescher's grandmother on The Nanny. She was also in multiple episodes of The New Andy Griffith Show, The Fanelli Boys and Picket Fences. In addition, she appeared in My Three Sons, I Dream of Jeannie, Room 222, The Partridge Family, Emergency!, Barney Miller, Cheers, Newhart, Murder, She Wrote, Blossom, Home Improvement, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Modern Family, Grey's Anatomy, Getting On, Life in Pieces and many others.

Guilbert died on June 14, 2016, in Los Angeles. She was 87.
