First Entry Deadline for Sixth Annual Television Academy Honors is Friday, December 14

The 2013 honorees for will be announced Monday, March 11, and the awards ceremony will be held Monday, May 6, at the Beverly Hilton.

Celebrating “Television with a Conscience,” the Sixth Annual Television Academy Honors brings recognition to extraordinary television programming — network, cable, online — that inspires, informs, motivates and even has the power to change lives.


The first entry deadline for programming that aired from 1/1/12 – 10/31/12 is December 14, 2012.

The second entry deadline for programming that aired from 11/1/12 – 12/31/12 is January 14, 2013.

For the portrayal of issues ranging from capital punishment, racism and prescription drug abuse to human trafficking, autism, cancer and many others, previous Television Academy Honors recipients include Dr. Oz, Men of a Certain Age, Rescue Me, Five, Friday Night Lights, CSI, Glee, Private Practice, Parenthood, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Big C, Taking Chance, Grandpa, Do You Know Who I Am?, Stand Up To Cancer, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, 30 Days, Whale Wars and more.

Entries may be made for fiction/nonfiction series submitted 1) as a whole, 2) for a single episode, or 3) for a story arc up to three episodes. Entries also may be made for television movie, miniseries or fiction/nonfiction special. Honorees for the Sixth Annual Television Academy Honors will be announced on March 11, 2013, and the awards ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton on Monday, May 6.
