NBC will broadcast the 62nd Primetime Emmy® Awards live coast-to-coast on Sunday, August 29 (5-8 p.m. PT, 8-11 p.m. ET), from NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles.

Nominations for the 2010 Primetime Emmys will be revealed Thursday, July 8 at 5:40 a.m. (PT), live from Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre on the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences campus in North Hollywood, California.

Paul Telegdy, Executive Vice President of Alternative Programming for NBC Universal Media Studios, noted that scheduling and announcing the Emmys new August 29 slot this early in the awards cycle will give the Television Academy and NBC a head start on creative discussions. "NBC is excited to host television's biggest night," Telegdy said.

NBC first broadcast the Primetime Emmy Awards in August, rather than its traditional September, in 2006, due to the scheduling of the network's popular NFL Football franchise Sunday nights in September. That August 2006 telecast was the highest-rated entertainment program of that summer and still ranks as the highest-rated Emmy Awards show of the past four years.
