Board of Governors

December 31, 2013

Gerri Shaftel Constant, Los Angeles Area

Gerri Shaftel Constant is a medical & special projects producer for Fox 11 News. Her extensive history with the Television Academy dates back to1988, when she was the recipient of a National College Television Award while studying Broadcast Journalism at California State University Northridge. It was the first College Emmy for CSUN, and, Constant says, the first time she was ever first place at anything. Constant took home her second College Television Award two years later. Since beginning her professional career in Los Angeles in 1996, Constant has won 11 Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards and received 31 nominations. She believes that seeking out excellence and rewarding it fosters more effort and more excellence. She adds that in an era of so much consolidation and downsizing, it’s more important than ever to recognize those artists and journalists who often, against tremendous odds, manage to create enlightening, entertaining and memorable television experiences. Constant joins the Board of Governors following two terms of service on the Los Angeles Peer Group Executive Committee.
