Camille DeMave, Key Assistant to Actors, Directors, Producers

At different times, she worked for movie star Paul Newman, director George Roy Hill and the producers of TV's Perry Mason.

Camille DeMave, who worked as an assistant to such notable show-business figures as Paul Newman and director George Roy Hill, died July 5, 2013, in Macon, Georgia. She was 84.

According to reports, she died of natural causes.

DeMave, who lived in Studio City for nearly 50 years before moving to Macon in 2012, worked as an assistant to Hill during the period when he made (and won an Oscar for) the 1969 western classic Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

She later worked for Paul Newman, who starred in Butch Cassidy and The Sting, both directed by Hill.

Others for whom she worked included Gail Patrick and Cornwell Jackson, producers of Perry Mason; producer Robert Arthur at Universal Studios.
