Mark Balelo, Storage Wars Auctioneer

Balelo was known by the nickname "Rico Suave" on the popular A&E reality show.

Mark Balelo, an auctioneer who appeared on the popular A&E reality series Storage Wars, was found dead in his car on February 11, 2013, in Simi Valley, California. He was 40.

According to news reports, Balelo died of asphyxiation from carbon monoxide and exhaust fumes. He was found in a car parked in a garage at his auction house, Balelo Inc.

Storage Wars follows a team of auctioneers who sell off the contents of reclaimed storage units to buyers. Balelo, who went by the sobriquet "Rico Suave," was known for his flamboyant wardrobe and for carrying large sums of cash when he went to auctions.

According to the Ventura County Star newspaper, Balelo was arrested at his business on February 9 on charges of possession of methamphetamines. He was due to appear in court on February 19.
