Milt Hamerman, Longtime Casting Executive with Universal

Hamerman's credits several top series, including Hogan's Heroes and Bonanza.

Milt Hamerman, a top casting director was talent executive at Universal Studios Television, died on February 24, 2012, in Los Angeles. He was 87.

According to reports, Hamerman died of of natural causes.

Hamerman came to casting after first having worked as an actor and an agent.

He broke into casting through renowned casting director Lynn Stalmaster, for whom he worked while Stalmastr was casting such movies as The Graduate and In the Heat of the Night and television series Hogan's Heroes, Combat! and Ben Casey.

Hamerman later took an executive position at Universal, where he handled numerous TV miniseries and episodic series, including Kojak, Rich Man, Poor Man, Columbo, McMillan and Wife, Banacek, Miami Vice, Magnum, P.I., The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman.
