Esther Kartiganer, Longtime Producer for 60 Minutes

Kartiganer worked at CBS for more than 40 years, more than 20 of them with 60 Minutes.

Esther Kartiganer, a longtime producer for the CBS news magazine 60 Minutes, died August 1, 2012, in Aspen, Colorado. She was 74.

According to news reports, the cause was a heart attack.

Kartiganer, who spent more than 40 years with CBS, began as a temporary assistant and eventually became an editor, and then a senor producer, with 60 Minutes.

She worked at the show from 1982 to 2005.
