Don Grady, My Three Sons Star and Prolific Musician

In addition to his acting, Grady was a talented musician and composer whose credits included writing the theme song for The Phil Donahue Show.

Don Grady, an actor and musician best known for the role of oldest son Robbie Douglas on the 1960s television comedy My Three Sons, died June 27, 2012, in Thousand Oaks, California. He was 68.

Grady was also one of the original Mouseketeers on The Mickey Mouse Club.

Born Don Louis Agrati on June 8, 1944, in San Diego, he began acting as a child.

My Three Sons, which aired from 1960-1971, co-starred Fred MacMurray, William Demarest. In addition to acting on the show, he performed songs and wrote a number of episodes.

His other TV credits include The Ann Sothern Show, Zane Grey Theater, The Rifleman, The Lucy Show and Simon and Simon.

At age 19, Grady signed a contract with Capitol Records, and went on to become a composer after his television career ended. He performed the music for the feature film Switch, directed by Blake Edwards, the theme song for The Phil Donahue Show and music for the Las Vegas stage show EFX.

He also released two albums, Homegrown, in 1973, and Boomer: JazRokPop, in 2008.

Survivors include his wife, son, daughter, mother and sister.
